Call Conference
Mark Your Calendars:
November 15-18, 2012
The Call Conference exists to provide students with the time, space and opportunity to explore their call into Christian leadership.
The conference is designed around the idea that in order to hear God’s voice we need a place to slow down and listen. A place to hear and be drawn toward the calling God has placed on each of our lives, whether in full-time ministry or some other endeavor. Conference participants are encouraged to invite a mentor to come with them to the conference in order to help them process all that God is saying and doing in their lives, as well as to assist in carrying the lessons and experiences home. Come join peers from all across our region as we listen to God for The Call.
The Call Conference cycles through a two-year rotation. The first year, we focus on the theological foundations of Christian leadership, with special attention given to the Apostles’ Creed. In the second year we focus on the practical realities of Christian leadership and service through the ministry of the Word and sacrament. In 2012, we will be in year one of this cycle.
All interested High School Juniors or Seniors must qualify to attend by applying to their Districts and being accepted into the program. Each class will be taught by a Doctoral level professor. Students will have the chance to hear real life stories and have meaningful dialogue with professionals dedicated to following God’s call.
